Early Learning (Pre-K3 - Grade 4)

Welcome to Early Learning!

At Galloway, we focus on educating the whole child. What does that look like on a day to day basis? Walk into Early Learning, and you will find active and curious learners who enjoy the chance to discover new things and challenge themselves. We start by building lasting relationships with our students and our families as we understand how crucial it is for our students to feel connected to our learning community. In addition, we recognize the importance of social-emotional learning and integrate this into our curriculum to help students grow into happy and healthy people who are willing to try new things and embrace new opportunities.

We foster a love of learning by developing student interests with a year-long passion project and by immersing students in experiential learning with events like our week-long event called The Happening. In the process, our students learn how to learn as they gain the requisite skills to tackle real-world problems. By focusing on learning through play and on the process instead of the product, our students are encouraged to try new things, innovate, and collaborate. This gives them the confidence to embrace new challenges and play the game of learning instead of playing the game of school. We do all of this because we believe in the unrepeatable talent of each of our students.

"Hug O' War" by Shel Silverstein

I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins
