Horizons Atlanta at The Galloway School works in partnership with a nationally recognized program to influence the trajectory and advance the educational equity of all students. Horizons mission is to close the opportunity gap for underserved students through a transformative, high quality academic program that engages students in experiential learning. We believe every child, regardless of background, should have the opportunity to make a positive impact on their community. Horizons scholars discover the joy of learning while realizing their potential for success.

Horizons at The Galloway School School began in the summer of 2021 with 15 rising 1st grade scholars and 15 rising 2nd grade scholars. Scholars begin their Horizons journey after their Kindergarten year and return year after year through high school. Our scholars currently matriculate from Scott Elementary in the Atlanta Public School system. We blend academics with recreation and cultural enrichment, provide swimming lessons, art, music, STEAM class, SEL, and more. Each week culminates in a field trip based on the summer’s learning theme. Our scholars build strong bonds with teachers and the student volunteers throughout the summer session, as well as on our Saturday sessions during the school year.

Horizons Atlanta is comprised of 11 sites in the Atlanta area and serves over 1,500 students, while Horizons National includes 71 sites in 20 states and is expanding.
