Horizons Atlanta at The Galloway School is dedicated to closing the opportunity gap for underserved students through a transformative, high quality academic program that engages students in experiential learning. We believe every child, regardless of background, should have the opportunity to make a positive impact on their community. Horizons advances educational equity by building long-term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning.

Over the summer, Horizons students attend a 6-week program on Galloway’s campus. Our scholars matriculate from Scott Elementary in the Atlanta Public School system. The program emphasizes math and reading instruction to help students strengthen foundational skills and prevent summer learning loss. In addition to academics, students receive 90 minutes of swim instruction each week and engage in a variety of enrichment activities, including STEM, coding, music, visual arts, and physical education. Students have field trips that provide real-world connections to the classroom.

Horizons Atlanta is comprised of 11 sites in the Atlanta area and serves over 1,500 students, while Horizons National includes 71 sites in 20 states and is expanding. 91% of Horizons graduates go on to attend college or some form of post-secondary education.
