Athletic Medicine

At Galloway, our Athletic Medicine Department provides comprehensive, student-centered care designed to keep athletes healthy, strong, and ready to perform.

Led by Head Athletic Trainer Mason Briles and supported by our Head Team Physician Dr. Jeff Webb, our program blends prevention, treatment, and research with a holistic approach to student well-being.

We go beyond treating injuries by identifying root causes and tailoring individualized recovery plans. Our facility is equipped with advanced therapy options such as cryotherapy, hydrotherapy, compression therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, cupping, and more, ensuring student-athletes receive the highest quality care.

At Galloway, athletic medicine is more than treatment—it’s a proactive, research-driven, and collaborative approach to supporting the health, safety, and academic success of every student-athlete.

Concussion Care and Research

Galloway provides one of the most advanced concussion management programs among secondary schools. Working closely with Learning Support Services and our nursing staff, we guide athletes through safe return-to-learn and return-to-play protocols. We also partner with Emory Sports Medicine’s SPARC for cutting-edge research in neurocognitive testing and virtual reality–based concussion evaluation.

Medical Referrals

Through our partnership with Emory Healthcare, student-athletes benefit from one of Atlanta’s most extensive specialty referral networks, with priority scheduling for orthopedic and sports medicine specialists. This ensures timely access to expert care when complex or surgical needs arise.
