Music at Galloway transforms creativity into sound, draws interdisciplinary connections, sparks harmonious community, and offers students the lifelong gift of musical literacy. In Early Learning students are exposed to the elements of pitch and rhythm through movement, interactive classroom activities, percussion instruments, ukulele, singing, and recorder. They also begin building a language to discuss instrumentation and contextualize genres. EL Music classes provide a strong foundation for students heading into the ML Music Ensembles of Guitar, Band, or Chorus.

In Early Learning, Dance is a part of the Performing Arts (PA) class curriculum alongside Drama. In PA, the creative process is used to explore numerous topics and ideas through play and movement expression. While students are learning about Characters, Story, Staging, Voice, and Imagination, PA pairs these Drama units with the Dance Elements of Time, Space, Energy and Body Awareness in order to creatively examine topics. Students build movement confidence in PA that then empowers them to become dynamic and expressive performers.

The Visual Arts program at Galloway for Pre-K3 through 4th grade engages students in hands-on, exploratory art experiences that build creativity, confidence, and foundational skills. Early Learning Artists explore different mediums—such as ceramics, painting, and drawing—and use found objects to create sculptures. Students are allowed to explore in choice-based art time where they can create based on their own curiosities and interests using a range of materials, allowing them to grow their art language by talking through and about their works.
