The Upper Learning Quiz Bowl Team participated in National Academic Quiz Tournament's (NAQT) Small School National Championship April 24-25. The tournament was an invitation-only field made up of private high schools with enrollments under 500 who had performed strongly in tournaments held in their respective states. After a 7-2 record in preliminaries and a 2-2 record in the playoffs, the team ended in a tie for 11th place out of the 60 teams in the field - the highest finish ever for a Galloway team in a national tournament!
Team members were Sofia Pomeroy ('21), Victor Wall ('21), Samuel Brenner ('21), Charlie Garroway ('21), Andrew Rovinsky ('21), Rohan Datta ('22), and Lucas Fraser ('21, not pictured).
The team also has been accepted into NAQT's High School National Championship Tournament, which features schools of all sizes and will be held over Memorial Day weekend. Best of luck to these talented students!
