Middle and Upper Learning Chorus and Musical Theatre instructor Natalie Pitchford recently performed the role of Claudia in a rofessional production of NINE: The Musical in Concert by Maury Yeston. The show was produced at the Jennie T. Anderson theatre in partnership with the Atlanta Lyric Theatre.
Inspired by the story of Federico Fellini, NINE tells the story of fictional filmmaker Guido Contini. Contini is haunted by a lack of inspiration for a new film while juggling his relationships with the women in his life amidst an upheaval of childhood trauma. Guido's muse Claudia struggles to convince Guido that she no longer wants to be in his films.
The entire show was learned, rehearsed, and filmed in less than one week in early May. Natalie, who had been previously cast in another role, found out that she would be performing the role of Claudia only eight days before the performance!
The concert version of the show featured an 11-piece orchestra and a cast of many of Atlanta's favorite professional actors. The production was recently featured on BroadwayWorld.com.
