ML Debate Finishes Season with 92 Awards
Galloway's ML Debate Team competed in 11 regional and national tournaments this year. The team's roster of 36 students was recognized for a combined 92 awards this season for outstanding debating. ML Debate Coaches Tommy Sharp and Chris Edmonds were also recognized as 2021-21 Debate Coaches of the Year by the Atlanta Urban Debate League.
Over the summer, students had multiple workshops to prepare for the season as we debated about criminal justice reform. Students worked on their skills at weekly practices in after-school Zoom sessions. Galloway's team debated primarily n the Atlanta Urban Debate League and even hosted tournaments for the first time.
