Galloway Swimmers Shatter School Records

Congratulations to Galloway’s varsity swim team on a fantastic season that included breaking six school records and finishing in the top 10 in several events at the state championship!

Jason Danforth '25 broke FIVE school records this season in the following events:

  • Boys' 50 Yard Free: 21.66; also placed 3rd overall in GHSA 1A
  • Boys' 100 Yard Free: 48.91
  • Boys' 200 Yard Free: 1.45.78
  • Boys' 100 Yard Back: 52.76
  • Boys' 100 Yard Fly: 52.73

Jason also placed 3rd overall in GHSA 1A for this 100 Backstroke. His extremely competitive times not only broke school records but also qualified him for the 2023 NCSA Spring Swimming Championships in Orlando, Florida in March. This is an incredible opportunity for a sophomore athlete and we are so proud of him! Outside of Galloway, Jason swims approximately 20 hours a week for Chattahoochee Gold, a competitive local swim club.

Alexandra Ramsey '26 also set a new school record for swimming the Girls' 500 Freestyle in 6.15.86.

The relay team consisting of Jason, Dylan Reiser ‘25, Max Reilly ‘26, and Baxter Hernacki ‘26 placed ninth overall in GHSA 1A in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. Dylan also finished 8th overall in the 100 Breaststroke.

Our Middle Learning swim team also had a fantastic showing at the GIAA state meet with Henry Ramsey '28 coming in 2nd place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.63, 2nd place in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 26.80, and 2nd place in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 53.70.

Way to go, Scots!
