Galloway Hosts Atlanta Area Technology Educators Meeting

Galloway Hosts Atlanta Area Technology Educators Meeting

Atlanta Area Technology Educators (AATE) is a group of technology educators from independent schools in Georgia who gather quarterly to exchange innovative ideas and network. Galloway's Instructional Technology Specialist Latifah Williams collaborated with AATE's governing board to plan the agenda for the February meeting, which Galloway also hosted.

Multiple Galloway faculty members led presentations on various topics, including Media Literacy (Experiential Learning Specialist Amoy Walker), Virtual Reality in the Curriculum (5th grade Social Studies teacher Robin Elms and ML Technology and Innovation Teacher Mark Gerl), and an Informational Technology Roundtable (Director of Technology Kyle Johnson).

Galloway was able to showcase its expertise in technology, innovative curriculum, and outstanding teachers, including the Early Learning Makerspace and the Upper Learning Idea Lab, run by Amelia Hobson and MariaPaola Jimenez, respectively. Overall, the meeting was a fantastic opportunity for educators to learn from one another and discover new approaches to technology education!
