"Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Monday, January 20, marked another successful day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., organized by Galloway's Families of Color United for Success (FoCUS). This year was Galloway's 3rd Annual Day ON of Service, and it did not disappoint. More than 230 parents, students, faculty, staff, family and friends joined together to help others!
We supported seven community-based events and organizations that included Toco Hills Community Alliance, Furkids, Best Friends Animal Society Atlanta, Ronald McDonald House, Women's Community Kitchen at Grace United Methodist Church and Books for Africa. Participants also made more than 2,300 sandwiches that were distributed to the Gateway Center and The Shepherd's Inn.
FoCUS continues to be grateful for the support of the community as this event grows bigger and better each year!
