Sophomore Selected for GOA Catalyst Exhibition Showcase

Congratulations to Emmi Lieberman '25 whose Global Online Academy capstone project has been included in the GOA 2022-23 Catalyst Exhibition Showcase. Of over 590 student projects submitted during the summer, only 19 of them were selected as exemplary and published in the showcase. Emmi's carefully researched presentation explored the impact - both positive or negative - that social media has on mental health disorders.

"I was particularly impressed with the compelling way that Emmi framed the issue she was investigating. I also appreciate the depth of her research and that she were able to provide several concrete suggestions for mitigating the negative impacts of social media use," said GOA Associate Director of Member School Engagement Douglas Beam.

Emmi's Abnormal Psychology teacher Dr. Broderick added, “Emmi's project was a thoughtful and well-explored comparison of the negative and positive possibilities using social media with suggestions for more positive outcomes."

Congratulations, Emmi!
