Cross Country Athletes Participate in Eighth Family Affair Meet

For the eighth year, the cross-country athletes from The Galloway School and Clarkston High School initiated the season with a friendly competition. More than 40 runners, roughly 20 from each school, participated in pre-season time trials to create a base time for each athlete.

Members of the Galloway cross country community raised $9,000 in athletic gear and gift cards to share with the Clarkston athletes. West Stride athletic store provided 56 pairs of running shoes for the runners from Clarkston, and all participants received a t-shirt. Galloway parents prepared a potluck meal for all participants.

Coach Beatty adds, “We could not have celebrated the success of this gathering without the hard work, enthusiastic support, and organizational skills of team parent Katie Hallowell and the other cross-country parents as well.”

What a way to kick off the cross-country season!
