On February 14, the varsity girls basketball team took on Savannah Christian in the first round of the State Playoffs. They were victorious in their first round matchup with a final score of 60-39. Given that the game took place on Valentines Day, our girls made sure to spread the love with five different players for the Scots scoring in double figures! The team is set to travel to Holy Innocents on Wednesday, February 19, for the second round of the state playoffs. The tip is set for 5:30 PM.
On February 15, varsity boys team faced off against Whitefield Academy in the opening round of the state playoffs. It was a tough and riveting basketball game against a very competitive Whitefield team. The Scots trailed by five points going into the fourth quarter but were able to mount a comeback and ended up winning the game by a final score of 51-44. The scoring was paced by Anthony Arrington who had 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Quentin Alterman was also a major contributor, scoring 14 points and sealing the victory with some crucial free throws in the fourth quarter. The team is set to take on Greenforest in a rematch of this year's Region Championship. The game will be played on Wednesday, February 19, at the neutral site of Redan High School with the tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
