About Amir Farokhi

Amir Farokhi is Head of School at Galloway. Appointed in 2025, Amir, who graduated from Galloway in 1996, is the first alumnus to serve as the school's head.

Previously, he served for nearly eight years on the Atlanta City Council, and spent over a decade leading local, national, and international non-profit organizations. Amir started his career practicing law after receiving his law and undergraduate degrees from Duke University. Prior to law school, he taught for a year at the Taipei American School. Amir was a Civil Society Fellow with The Aspen Institute and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In the little time he has when he's not chasing his two young children around, Amir enjoys trying to grow olive trees on a small farm in Middle Georgia.
