About Galloway

Joyful. Authentic. Extraordinary.
In 1969, Galloway was founded on eight acres in Atlanta's Chastain Park as a pioneer of progressive education. Today, we remain a school defined by remarkable faculty who put students' natural curiosity at the center of education to inspire a lifelong love of learning.
We are proud to offer a model for superior independent school education that actively prepares students for a changing world. We go to great lengths to ensure that every child is seen, that learning is joyful, and that students have high expectations for themselves. We believe that children learn best when they are drawn – not forced – to do so and when they learn by doing. As a result, our students are happy at school, authentic and kind with one another, and unafraid to assert themselves.
Each year, Galloway graduates gain admission to hundreds of colleges and universities across the country and globe. More importantly, our alumni are comfortable with complexity, confident in who they are, and lead lives of growth and inquiry.

Our Mission
The Galloway School is a community where learning is joyful, individuals are valued, and self-discovery is encouraged. Galloway students confidently embrace challenges while developing the knowledge, skills, and cultural competence to thrive as enlightened contributors in their chosen pathways.
