What is the Birthday Book Club?
-
The Birthday Book Club honors students’ birthdays with a library book dedicated to them. Parents or friends donate $20 and choose a book from among the librarian selected books displayed at the Back to School Event each August. At the Birthday Book Club party held in September, participants’ birthdays are jointly celebrated. The honored student is the first to check out his or her birthday book before it is put into permanent circulation. Each birthday book has a nameplate commemorating the book in honor of the child’s birthday and the student receives a commemorative bookmark. The Birthday Book Club is available for Early Learning students as well as 5th and 6th grade students.
