Fine Arts Boosters
The Fine Arts Boosters, known affectionately as "FAB," are a committee of the PA whose singular role is to support Galloway’s flourishing arts programs. These programs include: Theatre, Technical Theatre, Dance, Chorus, Band, Orchestra, and the Visual Arts. Our talented students are both instructed and mentored by the wonderful Galloway teaching staff.
The Fine Arts Boosters make sure the show goes on, no matter what type of show it is. FAB is the "backbone of the backstage," helping to ensure that every job gets done. Whether hosting the GHSA One Act Play competition, an orchestra or band performance, participating in a choral competition, presenting an art exhibit, sponsoring a dance recital, or producing a spring musical, FAB members work tirelessly behind the scenes so that the talented artists can focus on their craft.
FAB Mission Statement
The Fine Arts Boosters are committed to fostering an awareness of the arts (PK-12). Parents and interested community members take an active role in supporting Galloway faculty and students in their exploration and sharing of all the arts including visual arts, music, theatre, dance, and musical theatre. FAB also works within the community to promote a vibrant and cohesive fine arts department dedicated to developing the innate creative abilities of every Galloway student.
FAB typically assists the teachers and students in their after and extra-school arts activities. Whether it be organizing a reception for the Galloway Dance Ensemble performance, assisting back stage in the Middle Learning Musical or selling flowers to patrons of Galloway Theatre Company productions, there is always a need for an extra pair of hands.
One of the larger parts of the arts program and the area requiring the most support from FAB is in the Theatre. Students get involved in everything from the backstage to onstage. The Middle Learning musical is typically done half-way through the school year and there are many opportunities for parents to get involved. Typically, there are three Upper Learning productions a year: the fall and winter plays and the spring musical. Parents can help run the concessions, sell flowers, sell tickets, and manage the house for these shows. In the past two years (2014 and 2015) Galloway has hosted the Regional One Act Play festival -- a one-day competition for through the Georgia High School Association.

The Galloway Dance Ensemble performs throughout the school year, giving two full-length concerts at the end of each semester as well as community outreach performances throughout the year. January concerts are choreographed by faculty with the intention of offering students a broad spectrum of performance genres. Concerts in May include works of student choreography created by the students currently in the choreography class. FAB volunteers help host the performances sometimes organize a reception during the semi-annual concerts.

Students prepare and perform Fall and Spring Concerts each year, frequently collaborating with theatre and dance ensembles. There are additional performance opportunities throughout the year, including Wednesday morning concerts and other school functions. The visual arts are currently the small but mighty arm of the fine arts program. Work from Galloway students has gone on display in regional exhibits and at the High Museum of Art. Additionally, over the 2016 summer, work will be completed on a new art gallery on the Galloway grounds. While a new position in the FAB team, we are looking for a coordinator to help the faculty, staff and students pave the way for the visual arts at Galloway.
