Galloway hosted the capstone celebration of its 40th anniversary year on Saturday, May 1. The event kicked off with the unveiling of Elliott’s Circle, then continued with the premiere of Galloway’s new museum exhibition, a service project benefitting the Fulton County Court Appointed Special Advocate Association, live music, and student performances.

Galloway third graders recently culminated a month-long service learning project on Heifer International with a visit from Claire Stine, one of Heifer’s founding members.

Galloway’s Earth Day celebration was full of exciting activities, including a butterfly release, on-campus gardening, band and strings performances, and a visit from Galloway grandparent Jim O’Kon, one of the organizers of the original Earth Day in New York 40 years ago. The Middle Learning Heritage Museum, the culminating event of the eighth-grade study of 20th-century U.S. history, went on display on Friday, April 30.

The students in Sharon Kalahar’s and Leigh Anne Strawn’s Early Learning class recently delivered 104 pounds of metal to Metro Alloys to benefit Ronald McDonald House.

During the waning days of Mark McCandless’s philosophy class, the students met in recently inaugurated Elliott’s Circle. Coincidently, the class has been learning about educational philosophies, including Elliott Galloway’s thoughts on education.
