Galloway at a Glance

Established in 1969 as an independent day school, The Galloway School serves a diverse body of approximately 700 students in preschool through 12th grade. We are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and hold membership in the National Association of Independent Schools and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.

  • Galloway is located in beautiful Chastain Park in Buckhead.

  • Five main buildings: the Richard C. Gresham Building, built in 1911; the W. King Sims Early Learning Center, built in 1988; the Carolyn and Ross Arnold Classroom Building and the gymnasium, built in 1996; and the Chaddick Center for the Arts, built in 2003

  • 1 p.m. program for 4-year-olds: $13,720

 Financial Aid

  • Need-based financial aid offered through the School and Students Service for Financial Aid (SSS), which is conducted under the auspices of the National Association of Independent Schools

 Arts

  • A wide array of arts courses are offered, including visual arts; band, strings, and choral classes; drama, technical theater, and Theatre Company; dance; photography, and technology courses such as animation, digital film, and computer graphics
  • Early Learning students work with music and art specialists each week
  • Starting in 2nd grade, students perform in choral concerts each year
  • Each year, the drama department participates in the GHSA One-Act Play competition and produces a music in the spring

  Athletics

  • 38 competitive teams in 11 different sports, including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, ultimate Frisbee, and volleyball
  • 80 percent of students play at least one sport
