Upper Learning students are expected to assume responsibility for their own choices, effort, and achievement. Teachers encourage and guide students to construct their own knowledge for true understanding while they master a rigorous college preparatory curriculum.

Upper Learning students are expected to assume responsibility for their own choices, effort, and achievement. Teachers guide Upper Learning students and encourage them to ask questions, make comments, and seek clarification. The individual student remains the center of a supportive educational process where teachers genuinely care for and respect their students.

Because our students learn to work together in groups, take leadership roles, plan and implement learning activities, and fulfill commitments to their peers, they enjoy academic and social success as they enter college.

In order to accommodate a range of student interests and learning styles, teachers employ a variety of techniques in the classroom: traditional lectures, discussions, collaborative learning, and hands-on experiential activities.

Students are expected to be fully engaged in learning at Galloway and to demonstrate their mastery of material through various methods: pen-and-paper tests, book reports, oral presentations, group work, visual projects, video demonstrations, and labs.
