    The Galloway School will host its fourth annual opening convocation on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 2, on its campus in Chastain Park. This year’s event marks the first formal introduction of Galloway’s new head of school, Dr. Beth Farokhi, to the community.

    During the last three years, Tom Brereton and the Galloway leadership team have developed several strategies to preserve and strengthen the school’s legacy, celebrating 40 years of rich history while laying the foundation for Galloway’s continued success during the next four decades and beyond. After his three-year tenure as head of school, Tom Brereton has resigned effective July 22.

    Galloway senior Alfred Quaicoe was named a Gates Millennium Scholar by the United Negro College Fund this week. The scholarship supports the cost of undergraduate education and many graduate programs by covering unmet need and can be used at any college or university of the recipients’ choice.
